Will the Outbreaker backpack fit me?
The best way to check the Outbreaker backpack's fit is to measure your torso length. The length of your torso is more important than your overall height when fitting a backpack. The Outbreaker backpack 45L is 22" tall but can comfortably fit torsos of 16-20”+ (Equal to REI’s S-L sizing). If the Outbreaker backpack 45L is too large for you, the 35L will be a better fit. How much can I pack in the Outbreaker backpack?
Your Outbreaker backpack may arrive flattened and not look very spacious. Don’t be discouraged. Open it up and start packing it. You’ll find that it holds everything you need.
Check out our sample packing lists for your reference. You will also have the hip belt pockets for anything else you need to carry -- great for pocket dumps at security.
Who is the Outbreaker backpack for?
The Outbreaker backpack travel backpack is ideal for international travelers, backpackers in Europe, people on RTW trips, and study abroad students. Both sizes of the Outbreaker backpack offer enough space for clothing, toiletries, and accessories; like a laptop and tablet.
The 45L is best suited to trips longer than a week and those who pack a little more.
The 35L is best suited to trips lasting a week, or less. Light packers use the 35L on longer trips and round-the-world trips, as well.

Is the Outbreaker backpack waterproof?
The Outbreaker backpack is water-resistant, but not waterproof.
The Outbreaker backpack is highly water-resistant, so it will not require a rain cover. Most rain covers are actually not waterproof. Because they have stitched seams, don’t fully enclose the bag, and are made of fabrics with Durable Water Repellant(DWR) coatings, they keep out most of the water most of the time.
The Outbreaker backpack is built from a 4-layer, waterproof sailcloth. This, combined with water-resistant AquaGuard coil zippers, protects your stuff from water damage without the need for a rain cover. The waterproof materials plus the zippers means that it is highly water-resistant, but because it is a sewn product, it is not as waterproof as a dry bag. We don’t recommend throwing your bag in a lake. :)

How much does shipping cost?
In the United States, for orders of $49 or more: FREE ground shipping.
For domestic orders of less than $49: $10 flat rate.
International shipping costs vary by region.

Where do you ship to?
Thursday, May 24th is the last day that we will be shipping to Europe (for now). If you need to place an order, please do so by then. After that date, you will need to use a freight forwarder to ship Tortuga backpacks to Europe.
We ship to the US (including PO Boxes and APO/FPO/DPO addresses), Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and select countries in Asia-- Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Korea.
For shipping to other countries, you can use a freight forwarder.
How long does shipping take?
US Orders
Please allow 1 business day for processing and up to 5 business days for delivery. Expedited orders will be delivered according to the shipping speed that you chose at checkout.
International Orders
Please allow 1 business day for order processing and approximately 6-10 business days for delivery.
Returns
What is your return policy?
If you are dissatisfied with your gear for any reason, you may return it unused, within 30 days of your purchase for a full refund excluding shipping costs.
